Prune is originally from the southwestern part of France. When it becomes mature, its coat looks dark purple and the pulp turns amber. As early as the year of 1856, a French planter called Louis introduced it to the North America. To be more specific, he brought it to today's California. Therefore, some people prefer to call it Californian prune toady.
